On November 23-24, the Hellenic Wind Energy Association in collaboration with the Norwegian Offshore Wind organized in Athens, a workshop on the development of Offshore Wind Farms in Greece. More than 65 companies, from across the Offshore Wind Farms (OWF) supply chain, were in the same place to meet each other, exchange experience and know-how as well as consider the next steps.

During the workshop, Hellenic Wind Energy Association and its partners presented two significant studies:

  • The study edited by iWind Renewables on the technical requirements of the sites for the construction of the offshore wind farm equipment.
  • The results of the market research carried out by Samaras & Associates. The research was done using a questionnaire and interviews with business executives in Greece involved in the supply chain.

Among others, the Minister of Environment and Energy, the General Secretary of Energy & Mineral Raw Materials, the HEREMA CEO, the President and CEO of Independent Electricity Transmission Operator, the President of the Waste, Energy & Water Regulatory Authority, and the President and CEO of Renewable Energy Sources Operator & Guarantees of Origin participated and gave a speech at the workshop.
