Insights from the second MARINEWIND Webinar “Unlocking the potential of Floating Offshore Wind: Which opportunities for Europe?”

Held on the 19th of May, the webinar addressed the current challenges and barriers hindering the deployment of the full potential of FOW technologies, assessing the existing gaps in terms of skills, infrastructures and manufacturing processes, while discussing the need to take policy measures and to foster the adoption of a pan-European collaborative approach for the successful creation of a European-based value chain.

Inspired by the sharing of best practices stemming from the Med Wind project and the presentation of the techno-economic and financial analysis carried out by the MARINEWIND project, the webinar provided first-hand insights and contributed to pave the way towards more-informed RES policies to support a sustainable development of Floating Offshore Wind in Europe.

A huge thank to all the participants and to our great speakers Tor Arne Johnsen from Norwegian Offshore Wind, Monica Lucarelli and Filippo Barzaghi from Nadara, Paolo Sammartino from Renexia Spa, Inès Tunga from Energy Systems Catapult and Paola Zerilli from University of York!
